Continue via Albenga, through the Maritime Alps into the “Arroscia Valley”, the largest valley in Liguria. While driving through the olive groves and beautiful valleys with medieval villages, you feel as if “time has stood still” there. We stop for a typical Ligurian olive oil tasting.

Next stop at Pieve di Teco, the “Village of the Shoemakers”. This place still has picturesque arcades from the 14th century with numerous photo opportunities and a multitude of tiny artisan workshops where shoes and handicrafts have been made for centuries. We drive through the Impero Valley back to the hotel.

Dinner with a salad and starter buffet and a 3-course menu.

Day 3 – A gourmet excursion through the wine route to Piedmont

Today we discover the Piedmont region, well known for the Italian philosophy of “good food and drink”.

Drive into the unique hilly landscapes of the “Langhe” with its countless wine-growing estates of the famous Nebbiolo grapes. The wonderful views along the Wine Route are a highlight. This area is home to the Italian kings of wine: Barolo and Barbaresco, which attract gourmets from all over the world. We stop at a winery and after a guided tour of the cellars, we get the chance to taste some of these delicious wines with a satisfying light lunch.

In the heart of the “Langhe”, we stop in the city of Alba, where it smells of chocolate, hazelnuts and truffles. After a guided tour of the city, there is still time for a stroll on your own.

Dinner with a salad and starter buffet and a 3-course menu.

Day 4 – Nice and St. Paul de Vence

Drive via the Flower and Esterel Motorway. Fascinating panoramic drive on the picturesque “Corniches” along the Principality of Monaco and the most beautiful views on the Côte d’Azur. In Nice, our local guide is taking us around the old town. Time at leisure to stroll along the promenade and the colorful flower market in the old town. Possibility to have lunch in Nice on option. Then we drive via Cagnes-sur-Mer into the backcountry to St. Paul de Vence, which was discovered by actors and artists in the 50s and retains a very special charm to this day.

At the center of the village, the so-called “Rue Grande” with numerous art galleries and Provencal handicrafts offers breathtaking views of the surrounding area as far as the Mediterranean Sea.  Sitting high above the village, the small cemetery is the final resting place of many personalities who fell in love with this charming village – among them the famous painter Marc Chagall.

Back at the hotel for dinner with a salad and starter buffet and a 3-course menu of your choice.

Day 5 – Genoa „La Superba“ with city walk and harbour tour

This excursion will take you to Liguria’s capital and the main port of Italy. Genoa looks back on more than 2000 years of history. The birthplace of Christopher Columbus was once the most powerful maritime republic in the Mediterranean region and, more recently, has been largely involved in the development of modern Italy.

Let’s start with a city tour to get to know Genoa’s numerous monuments and aristocratic palaces. Time at leisure to explore the city on your own, and enjoy the carruggis (narrow streets) of the old town, the cathedral “San Lorenzo” or the specialty shop “Eataly” with a wonderful view of the city.

We board on a private ship for a harbor tour, featuring breathtaking views of the harbor and the city from the sea. Lunch possible at a typical restaurant on the harbor.
