Day 3 – Lucca + Camellia Path with Villa Orsi and its blooming gardens

Departure from the hotel to one of the most beautiful cities in Tuscany – Lucca.

During a city walk, we explore the historical center, with its small alleys, unique palaces and churches.

Built in the Romans times, the Piazza Anfiteatro is one of the most beautiful squares in Lucca, lined with coffee houses and bars, the historic city wall and a wonderful promenade with centuries-old trees. Not to be missed is the birth house of the famous composer Giacomo Puccini which stands right in the middle of the historical part of the city. Palaces and churches from the Middle Age are the testimonies of the incredible wealth of the town, from the time when Lucca was the center of silk production in Europe.

Departure to Sant Andrea di Compito.

A short drive from Lucca, we arrive at Sant Andrea di Compito, home to the largest camellia exhibition in Italy. Over 1500 different varieties bloom in all their splendor in the colors white, pink and red. The oldest camellias are over 200 years old.

The best to dive in this experience is to walk along a romantic brook, through olive groves and the small medieval stone village of Sant Andrea di Compito.

We stop at the Villa Orsini with its beautiful blooming gardens.

Return to the hotel afterwards. Dinner with a choice of menu and a salad and starter buffet

Day 4 – Lari with Pasta factory and Viareggio

Arriving in Lari, a small village set on the beautiful Tuscan hills, it seems that time has stood still, as we embrace the view of small houses made of stone, with blooming flowers in the terracotta pots.

But that’s not what makes Lari so special … this little town has managed to become world famous !! And that’s not an exaggeration! The Martelli family is a family business and is the smallest and perhaps also the best pasta maker in the world.

We take a look at how the famous pasta is made, packed by hand and delivered to the other end of the world.

On the way back, we have time for a stopover in Viareggio, a seaside resort. Art Nouveau villas and the famous Café Margherita are reminders of the glamor of the Belle Epoque. Enjoy the views and the classy small harbor with famous yachts, designed for millionaires.

Return to the hotel and dinner with typical Tuscan specialities
